Eek, I just spent a grand on advertising, and my traffic is less than expected.
If you are a newbie in the make money online blogging world, try not to spend lots on advertising in the beginning. There are many free ways to generate traffic that are very effective and long term at the same time. If you pay to have an influx of traffic, that instant level might only be a one-time deal or the traffic will just be useless. Spend lots of time brainstorming ways to generate traffic without spending a cent. The key is to add a link to your make money online blog in every way possible. Remember not to add useful comments or spam because doing so will taint your online reputation.
The obvious ways to generate traffic are sometimes overlooked by make money online bloggers. Adding your site link to emails. Social networking discussions are totally free and very powerful if you did over and over. I have noticed that I am have been getting traffic from stumbleupon and blogcatalog lately. Start discussions on these formats and search out people that you find interesting and add them as to your friends list.

exactly. don’t spend money in the beginning. but later, u might want to, to speed things up a bit.
I am not really in do social site. For instance, I am on blogcatalog. The bounce rate for blogcatalog is like 80% which is not helpful to me. I prefer leaving useful comments on other people’s blog.

axioblogger : Bounce rate is certainly something to consider. I like the networks because of the advice that others are able to provide and I feel that any visitors to a site are OK. Leaving comments on other peoples’ blogs is also very powerful. I get a fair amount of traffic just through the commments that I am leaving.

I was lost as a newbie after starting my blog recently. I was getting ready to spend some money for advertising. After reading your constructive ideas, I am sure that I will be able to pull off some traffic if I work hard.

For me, I won’t spend a single cent to advertise my blog to get traffic. I prefer build up good content, and concentrate on SEO, once you have a good search engine ranking, it boost your traffic without any advertising. (But it takes time to get a excellent search engine ranking)
But, I might use some of the money i make from online to advertise too, so that my blog grow faster =)

Make Money From Home : There are literally thousands of free ways on the internet to promote your site. I agree that later on, putting lots of earnings back into your blog to help it to grow faster is a great plan.
