Add Domains to Your Portfolio Slowly But Constantly
Let’s go for it. Goofblogger says that we are ready to add to our portfolio.
Having a diversified domain portfolio is the way to go. Keep your purchases of domain names or established websites under control. It is possible to handle numerous domains at the same if you budget your time well.
Make a list of your daily tasks for managing your domains. Making a post to your main blogs should be on the top of your list. Content is the backbone since it generates income over the long term. Some of your minor blogs may only require 2-3 posts a week, but make sure that you schedule time during select days when you will post.
Secondary items such as responding to emails and comments are very important to the overall management of your portfolio overall. This task can actually be very enjoyable, it allows you to interact and network.
Next, focus in on marketing your important blogs through the different forums and commenting on interesting posts on other blogs. Sounds like this can take hours and hours, but actually once you have adapted to your daily domain building to-do list, it will take less and less time. If you have any time left on a particular day, work on the present domain that you are about to launch and make some sort of progress on it.
If you are ready to add yet another domain to your portfolio, take lots of time planning what its niche will be and whether or not it is best to purchase a pre-established site instead of starting from scratch. In the early stages, do not buy a complex site that is filled with fancy scripts and a confusing structure. Buy one that is low in price, but is making a small income per month. Html sites that have been online for about 6 months are perfect candidates.
I purchased another site this week that is generating about 5 dollars per month even though it is not being advertised. The price was right, so even if I was mislead slightly by the seller, I should be able to recover the cost of the site within 8-10 months.
There was another site that just about to purchase this evening. I had done, what I believed, was a thorough analysis using estibot and other sites. However, while reading through a few posts on this site, and I can remember seeing one of the phrases somewhere else. So, I checked on copyscape quickly and a majority of the newer posts had been copied from other sites. Wow, that sure was a close one. The lesson to be learned is not to trust some one right away that you are going to purchase from, even if they seem nice and friendly, double check and triple check whether or not the purchase is warranted.

How to Safely Buy A Small Website
I researched this necklace to death beforehand !
Is there a totally safe way to purchase a website ? No really, but you can reduce the risk factor greatly. Ensure that you go into a deal with both eyes open. That approach is very important. It doesn’t mean that you have to disbelieve the seller totally, but research the site beforehand handing over the cash or negotiating.
Ask the seller for screenshots of traffic reports, income reports. If they hesitate, they might be stalling just to frantically find nice reprot screenshots from another site. The other day, during the negotiating stage for the purchase of an established site, the seller sent a traffic report. The traffic report was text that he or she had typed into the message…Uuum…hello ? Do I have stupid written across my forehead ( sometimes, but thankfully, not all the time ) ?
After receiving the valid reports, now should you fork over the money ? Not quite, the reports are to used to negotiate the price. You should also check on estibot for the lowdown on the approximate value, the alexa rating and so forth. Then do a search to see if the site is for sell elsewhere or was previously for sell. If you find discussion in a forum related to this site, the information can be priceless. Some people in forum can be very direct with their questions regarding sites for sale.
If the decided price is low, such as $50, and you are satisfied with the reports and research, now is the time to buy. However, make sure that person has access to the site by asking them to upload an image file of your choice. Ok, now you can pay.
I personally feel that if the site is more expensive, $150 or more, it is a good idea to use an escrow service. It is a great way of protecting your cash. The site escrow.com charge a minimum fee of $25. The money is transferred to the seller only after the domain registration has been changed to the buyer’s name. If this does not happen, the money is given back to the seller. This is a general synopsis of the process. There are other regulations to go over in detail on the site.
Have you ensure that you make a safe purchase ? Do you have any site purchasing horror stories to scare us all ?
