The definition of internet marketing is varied. In essence, it represents ways to promote and sell a product or service via the internet. These marketing techniques can include SEO tactics and writing content that will entice someone into taking some sort of action. If your content sucks, your response rate will suck. The trick is get as much targeted traffic as possible. There are many ways to market through the internet.

My personal internet marketing definition is different from most. I feel that internet marketing is an online attempt at getting attention and maintaining the attention in order to get the desired revenue results. Getting attention is through generating traffic which can be accomplished in hundreds of different ways. You do not have to spent lots to get traffic. In the beginning stages of learning to get visitors, try to spend as little as possible. You have to learn the ropes first or else you may be enticed into spending money foolishly.

Try to come up with some unique ways to get traffic. While surfing around, check to see what others are doing or just how you arrived at certain pages. Was it through a link in a forum or an ad that caught your eye ? Start making a list of ways that others are getting linked to their sites. Giving away free stuff works well. If you subscribe to a plr site, start offering your readers royaltry free articles that they can use on their sites. However, have them fill out an opt-in form in order to receive your freebies. Keep in touch with them and let them know what seems to be working for you marketing wise.

The second part of my internet marketing definition consists of maintaining attention. Your content has to have some meat to it and a personal twist has to be applied to your articles and posts. Encourage your readers to leave lots of comments to create a sense of community. Make sure that your site is easy to follow and that surfing internally is easy to accomplish for the visitors.

Collecting opt-in email addresses may sound spammy, but it is far from it. I used to think that it was just a way to get spammed more often. However, most of the opt in pages allow you way out or opt out solution. This is especially true with opt in email addresses. One guy that has a huge list is sending me messages daily, but they are humorous and all of the messages have some useful information that helps with my make money online venture.

If you are building a list of  opt in email addresses, never sell the list. That is a tacky and mean thing to do. We all hate spam from unknown sources. The people that have provided their email addresses are interested in what you can provide in order to make money online themselves, they are not looking to be bombarded with stupid email messages that fill their inboxes.

Make sure that you have something to offer the people that are on your list of opt-in email addresses. For instance, if you have found a great system that is working for you, give this information exclusively to your people. This commitment to them will work wonders for joint ventures and for creating a great atmosphere for networking. Also, the list of opt  in email addresses is a perfect way to explain in detail the progress that you are making because of a certain. Explain to them you would appreciate it if they would use your referral link but that it is not an obligation. You will surprised how many people will be more than welcome to use your affiliate referral link.

Goal To Increase Ranking In Search Engines

I have another goal that I wish to accomplish. One of my websites that I had purchased from someone is currently appearing in the 11th position in a google search for a certain keyword phrase. This particular keyword phrase is directly related to the theme of this website. If I were to appear near the top of page one, I know that the revenue will increase greatly. The website is generating income currently that is satisfactory, but I know that it has the potential to earn a lot more.

Here is my plan of attack First of all, I will revise the website by adding more content to it. It only has two articles on it right now. Then I will write another article that I will submit to numerous article directories. Next I will try to figure out why certain sites are appearing on page one by examining their backlinks and the anchor texts that they are using. Afterwards, I will try to obtain the same or similar backlinks. Now, for the waiting game. I will just let the site sit for 2-3 months until the backlinks have been validated by the search engines. Wish me luck and of course I will let you know how it turns out.
