Goal To Increase Ranking In Search Engines

Anchor text is extremely important for search engine optimization !

I have another goal that I wish to accomplish. One of my websites that I had purchased from someone is currently appearing in the 11th position in a google search for a certain keyword phrase. This particular keyword phrase is directly related to the theme of this website. If I were to appear near the top of page one, I know that the revenue will increase greatly. The website is generating income currently that is satisfactory, but I know that it has the potential to earn a lot more.

Here is my plan of attack First of all, I will revise the website by adding more content to it. It only has two articles on it right now. Then I will write another article that I will submit to numerous article directories. Next I will try to figure out why certain sites are appearing on page one by examining their backlinks and the anchor texts that they are using. Afterwards, I will try to obtain the same or similar backlinks. Now, for the waiting game. I will just let the site sit for 2-3 months until the backlinks have been validated by the search engines. Wish me luck and of course I will let you know how it turns out.

Part 2 : PPC Campaign – Creation OF A Landing Page

I finally have found a free template to use to create a nice landing page for my PPC experiment. You can download the template for yourself at Zac Johnson’s blog. All of the major components appear in Zac’s template. Here are the important parts, that Zac stresses, to include in your landing page :

1. Call to action header
2. Call to action photo
3. 4-5 major key points for the product or service
4. Call to action button that appears above the fold
5. Some type of promotional text
6. Testimonial text for the product or service
7. Photos backing up the testimonial text
8. At the bottom, provide a reason for acting now with yet another link to the sales page

In less than 10 minutes, I was able to alter the text within the sample landing page to suit my needs. Of course, the landing page is just a test landing page

Progress Report 1 : Using PPC to Make Money Online

PPC Campaign, that is freakin exciting. I have to start planning for one today.

I wanted to outline what I have accomplished so far with my first PPC experiment.

I selected a health niche product in clickbank that I will be promoting. I found a few keyword phrases that I feel will work well in the campaign. Using one of these phrases, I registered a .info domain name at a reduced rate for one year. I decided to use an .info because presently it only costs a few bucks to register it. Later on if the niche is a winner, I will register a similar .com domain.

It is better to use your own domain name as your landing page. If you pay for clicks using adwords and are using the same URL as others, it will be hard for your ad to appear. Google only displays one ad from each URL and if 10 people are plugging the same URL, you will be out of luck.

My next steps will consist of finding more keyword phrases for the campaign and finding a cheap way to create a landing page. I plan on using a simple HTML format.
