Time Management For Blogging And Building Domain Portfolio
Wait, time to take a break, I need my goofblogger daily fix.
First of all, you have to decide what you would like to accomplish over the next year or so. My goals are to launch at least 50 different domains over the next year that will each have unique content and will be generating enough income to cover their registration fees. Another goal that I have is to build this blog to a level that the income will allow me to farther expand my portfolio.
Once you have set your goals, you will to need to prioritize them. In order to be able to increase portfolio, my main income generator will be this blog. This blog will be paying the hosting fees for all of the other sites that I currently own, so it has to prosper.
Now that you have prioritized your goals, break down the daily routine for accomplishing your goals and try your best to stick to it. Personally, as time permits during the day, I will post to this main blog. Then I will spend some time marketing this blog. The marketing time should be about equivalent or even more than the time spent writing the daily post. If any extra time remains, I will then work on launching another site.
Of course, I still plan on having some sort of social life. You need to stay fresh. If you post, market, and develop new sites with all of your spare time, you will burn out. You just have to keep striving to make some sort of headway on a daily basis, even if it is minuscule on an extra busy day.
What is your daily schedule for blogging ? What percentage of time do you spend working on enhancing your portfolio of domains ?

Add Domains To Your Portfolio In A Controlled Fashion
I am in control of my destiny, how about you ?
One mistake that I have made as a newbie blogger building a portfolio is that I went wild registering domains that I thought were neat. Most of them are too broad and will be harder to generate search engine traffic because their niches are very popular. I will still develop those domains, but it will make it slightly more challenging.
My advice to you is to register just one domain at a time. Registering domains can become very addictve; I am speaking from personal experience. Start developing that particular site. Once it is online and ready for to launch, start to advertise it using free methods. Submit articles filled with unique content on article submission sites, and leave comments on sites that are within the same niche.
Repeat the above steps again and again. After a short time, you will have a very nice portfolio that continues to grow and expand. At the end of a year’s time, you can easily have 50-100 sites or more depending on how fast you can set them up. Just remember, the key is to spend the least amount possible on advertising.
As a site reaches its expiration date, determine how much it made so far. If you only paid $10 for registration, then it will only have had to earn 2.8 cents per day on average to cover the registration fee. If it wasn’t able to cover its fee, then you probably should allow it to expire. Many of your sites will have made over the 10 dollar mark, you can keep those ones in your portfolio by registering them for another year. Keep your process systematic and use your time wisely.
How many domains do you have in your portfolio presently ? Do you register several domains at the same time ?

How To Choose A Domain Name That Has Potential
I must have potential, I just appeared on Goofblogger !
This is a question that is hard to answer. It depends on the person and whether or not they are going to develop the site. Almost any domain name has potential if you are willing to put in the work necessary. However, using a name that can be pronounced and is remembered easily, makes your job a lot easier from the get go.
You should always have in the back on your mind the possibility that you will sell that domain that you are presently developing. An obscure name that doesn’t seem to match its niche will be harder to sell if someone is basing the purchase on the quality of the name. Also, It is best to use the dot com extension since it is so widely used.
Try to avoid numbers and hyphens in the name. Doing so makes it much harder for someone to remember the domain name. They might forget that there were dashes. You have to keep it simple.
Another important aspect is try to ensure that the domain matches your narrow niche. It is ok to use a few words in the name, but don’t get carried away and add a complete phrase. For example, for the niche of piggy banks, the name buyyourpiggybanksonlinetoday.com is a little much. A name such as buypiggybanks.com is better. You can try just using two words; however, the fewer the number of words used, the greater the likelihood that someone has already registered the name.
How do you choose your domain names ? Do you only register using the extension dot com ?
