Goal To Increase Ranking In Search Engines

Anchor text is extremely important for search engine optimization !

I have another goal that I wish to accomplish. One of my websites that I had purchased from someone is currently appearing in the 11th position in a google search for a certain keyword phrase. This particular keyword phrase is directly related to the theme of this website. If I were to appear near the top of page one, I know that the revenue will increase greatly. The website is generating income currently that is satisfactory, but I know that it has the potential to earn a lot more.

Here is my plan of attack :) First of all, I will revise the website by adding more content to it. It only has two articles on it right now. Then I will write another article that I will submit to numerous article directories. Next I will try to figure out why certain sites are appearing on page one by examining their backlinks and the anchor texts that they are using. Afterwards, I will try to obtain the same or similar backlinks. Now, for the waiting game. I will just let the site sit for 2-3 months until the backlinks have been validated by the search engines. Wish me luck and of course I will let you know how it turns out.

    Nice Goals :) Don’t know what is you page rank but the page structure also matters much, for example too many ads in places like subheader and footer are not very good to have. I do also have ads in my subheader! ;) So at the same moment when I placed them there my PageRank went down on 1 step. I have seen one blogger who was just using all existing inappropriate words like: f*ck in his posts but he got quit high search results for his basic keywords. Also one of my fellow blogger speaks a lot about this issues – I’ll ask him to make a post about it. ‘ll let you know. ;)

    jj-momscashblog : Backlinks are very important. Another way to generate strong backlinks that I have been experimenting with is via squidoo. You should check it out.

    Luke Zet : I personally feel that as long as don’t do something that obviously will affect page ranking negatively ,over time is will improve.

    Hey Goof, I wanted to come back and check out what you had to say …your words of wisdom. Squidoo mmmm I’ve heard that Squidoo is a good source for backlinks. Have you signed up with them and have you seen any difference? Thanks for the recommendation…I will try it out.

    jj-momscashblog : Squidoo is great. It is best to create as many lenses as possible. The lenses tend to rank high in searches.
