When Should You Hire Someone to Write Content

There are a few reasons why you should hire someone to write content for your blog or website.  The very nature of a blog requires that content is constantly updated. Some days you will feel as if you need a break from posting. Another major reason may be that you taking a long deserved vacation and you would like to have enough posts built up.

I have noticed on some forums that people that are fairly new to content writing, will write 200 word articles for around $3. That is a steal. They will do the research and string together a bunch of lovely expressions and phrases suited to your style and demands. Make sure that you don’t get stiffed by some one that just does the ‘copy and paste routine’ for ‘writing content’. Ask the individual for a few sample paragraphs before throwing money their way. There are a lot screwballs out there trolling for suckers.

Once you have found a great content writer hold onto them tightly. They are worth their weight in gold. If you explain to them along the way that you will have numerous projects for them in the future, they will most likely provide you with a discounted rate.

Something that I have been contemplating is to hire someone to write all of the content for one of my small website projects. It is possible to buy a pre-existing website that generates around $5 per month for around $75. However, after purchasing the site you will have to most likely pay the registration fee which could be another $10. The cost over a two year period will be the two years of registration and the purchase price, totaling $95. The profit after the two year period will be  $35. There is some risk involved, but sometimes you have to take risks to get ahead.

Here is a plan that I might implement if I find a good content writer that will provide a discounted rate for a block of articles.

1. Register a domain with the extension of info. There is currently a special on godaddy for this extension. The cost is $1.99 for one year
2. Pay someone to write 10, 200 word articles
3. Add 7 of the articles to the website made with a simple html template
4. Submit the other 3 articles to article submission sites to generate traffic to the site
5. Let the site sit for two years, adjusting its content from time to time to keep the content relevant

How much is the potential profit ?

Here are the estimated costs :

• registration two years - $1.99 first year, $10.00 second year
• ten articles $40

The revenue of course will be almost non-existent for the first six months until the site has aged enough to appear higher in the search engine results. After 6 months, the site may be earning $5 per month depending on the quality of content and other factors.  Over the two year period, the profit could be $38. There is some risk involved, but sometimes you have go for it and I plan on taking that approach.

You have to take into consideration, the time involved if you were to write the articles yourself. Plus, after the two year period you should be able to sell the site if need be for close to $75.

I will experiment with this technique using a few of the domains that I already have registered. If you would like to be paid to write content, I am open to offers.
